There are several ways to reach us. If you are arriving by car, the map on our website will guide you: www.ruralthailand.com. If you are coming by public transport from Bangkok or Chiang Mai, you can take either a train or VIP Tourist Bus Bangkok-Phrae, getting off at Denchai, or Chiang Mai – Phrae, getting off at Maakem. For the train we recommend taking a second class air conditioned sleeper, getting off at Ban Pin Station.

Your cottage is situated alongside the Salok mountain stream. From the veranda, you can watch the stream go by and enjoy the beauties of nature. The cottage has two bedrooms, each with a comfortable double bed, a fan and security safe, and with en suite bathrooms and solar powered hot water. The living area has comfortable easy chairs, a TV and a DVD player [English DVDs are provided free of charge].

Your kitchen is set up with full cooking facilities if you would like to cook for yourself. Wang Chin is only 7 kilometers away, where there is a market selling fresh fruit and vegetables, and local stores to buy basic supplies. We can provide transport if required at 200B/trip. If you would like to try a little Thai cooking, our village cook will help you decide on a menu, come with you to the market to buy the ingredients, and help you to prepare the meal. Disclaimer: please note, our village cook is not professionally qualified Cooking with our village cook, meal for 2 and a trip to the market to buy fresh ingredients 800B/meal. We have a laundry facility – clothes are dried in the sun and there is no ironing service. Cost will depend on the amount of laundry required.

An American style breakfast with coffee/tea, yogurt, and orange juice, choice of eggs, pancakes, French toast or oatmeal, served with bacon, ham or sausage.

One plate dish, soup, fruit, coffee/tea. The one plate dishes maybe a choice of noodles, or rice with different type of toppings. Refills are provided.

Consists of soup, two vegetable dishes, curry, fruit and coffee/tea. The curries are adjusted to your taste. Second helpings are provided on all dishes!

Our beautiful swimming pool is located in the garden area behind the cottages. It is heated by the sun all the year round and offers a welcome opportunity to cool off.

 

 

There are many activities that you may pursue during  your long term stay. Punjen Hide-away is situated next to the Wiang Kosai National Park so there are many opportunities for walking and hiking in the immediate vicinity.

 

 

 

1 day, vehicle with driver, maximum 4 people 1,500B/fuel From your cottage, a day trip is possible to Lampang [a tour of the city in an old fashioned pony cart, plus a visit to a famous old Thai temple, a pottery, hot springs etc] or to  Sukothai [a former capital of Thailand]  All tours offered in our regular 3day/2night program can  be booked on site. Details of these tours can be found on our website, www.ruralthailand.com

All confirmed bookings must be paid in full. No show or early departure is non refundable. If a confirmed booking is cancelled 15 or more days in advance, 50% minus all fees will be refunded; 8-14 days 25% minus all fees will be refunded; if less than 7 days, no refunds will be issued.
